FREELANCE PRODUCING


West Virginia University Hospitals:  Writer/Producer in the hospital’s Marketing and Communication department.  I am responsible for all aspects of production for various health-related promotional videos, as well as in-house training videos, TV commercials and PSAs.  I created a video archive system after the department switched from analog to digital media.


LifeStory Productions.  I founded this documentary production unit aimed at personal history preservation.  I use my clients’ own snapshots, films and video, along with historic photos and films, to craft a unique documentary of their life stories.  


OnQ Magazine, WQED-TV, Pittsburgh.  Segment producer for this acclaimed nightly magazine broadcast on Pittsburgh public television.


Nick News, Nickelodeon.  Segment producer for this award-winning children’s news program, hosted by Linda Ellerbee.  Responsibilities included enterprising news and issue-oriented stories and overseeing every element of production.  A 1998 special on the Clinton Impeachment won a Peabody Award and an Emmy nomination.


Intimate Portraits, Lifetime Television.  Episode Producer.  Responsibilities included research, field production, interviews, writing and edit supervision.


The 20th Century with Mike Wallace, with CBS News Productions for the History Channel.  Script writer for several 60-minute episodes.  


BROADCAST NEWS


Channel 11 News Saturday and Sunday Morning, WPXI-TV, Pittsburgh, PA, 1990-1996.  I solo-anchored the broadcast that pioneered weekend morning local news.  The success of this four-hour news block spawned imitations in local markets across the nation.


WTXF-TV,  Philadelphia, PA, 1988-1990.  General assignment reporter and backup anchor.  Associated Press award for feature reporting.


WCBD-TV, Charleston, SC, 1986-1988.  General assignment reporter.


KYW Newsradio, Philadelphia, PA, 1984-1986.  General assignment reporter.
