Lori Savitch
director, writer, editor
When my daughter was born, I found that the travel involved with freelance producing didn’t fit my vision of motherhood.
That’s when I started LifeStory Productions. But it really began when I was working on the “Intimate Portraits” series for Lifetime Television. I found myself wishing I had created a similar video production about my mom before she died.
In a typical LifeStory video, I use the family’s personal photos, films, videos and keepsakes, along with an on-camera interview with the subject. Often, the whole family gets involved, scouring their basements and attics, looking for visuals they know they have somewhere!
I often describe LifeStory Productions as “TV biography episodes about Grandma.” But it has proven to be so much more rewarding than that glib description. I’ve learned so much from my LifeStory subjects and their families. Each and every one enriched my life. And I’m proud to say that every client has volunteered to provide a positive reference.
